Action Plan Download
The Minuteman Advisory Group on Interlocal Coordination (MAGIC), a 13-town region of Metro Boston, developed a joint action plan that assesses the transportation and housing needs of older adults in those communities. The plan acknowledges it is important for transportation systems and housing options to be responsive to the changing demands of older adults, particularly for those with limited incomes and those with disabilities. MAGIC communities will choose to implement strategies both as a region and within individual towns, especially where the particular needs and opportunities for implementing strategies may vary across each town.
Action Plan Highlights
Transportation
Promote safety, connectivity, and a diversity of transit modes for older adults and people with disabilities by implementing Complete Streets principles in transportation infrastructure improvements.Housing
Expand housing choice, affordability, and access to home maintenance, repair, and modification resources so that older adults can remain in their community as their housing needs and preferences change.
