Progress Report Download
Salem's age-friendly progress report highlights gains in transportation, housing and communication. The community hosted a transportation fair, featuring transportation agencies and businesses from across the North Shore region, stretching all the way to Boston. Salem also compiled a list of, and negotiated with, licensed contractors who will offer age-friendly discounts and special services towards home retrofits and basic maintenance tasks, which is posted on the Salem for All Ages website. The website, which focuses on transportation, living well, aging in place, volunteerism and events and activities, includes the most current electronic version of the community age-friendly resource guide, and is maintained by a designated staff member. The Salem News also features a recurring monthly column on age-friendly topics.
