Ventura County developed its action plan by convening a panel of stakeholders to focus on the realities and challenges of growing older in the county, and what is needed to make the county more livable. The county committed to evolving to navigate the unique needs of older adults and people with disabilities in the community. While the focus is on aging, there is an equal focus people at all stages of life. The county initiative is also very focused on diversity, equity and inclusion, and recognizes the racial, ethnic, cultural and linguist diversity in the community and how all age-friendly resources and services must operate through that lens. The plan prioritizes the goals of providing housing for all ages and stages, health, ending social isolation, caregiving and affordable aging for all residents.
