Action Plan

An action plan is based on the results of community surveys identifying needs within the 8 Domains of Livability that influence the health and quality of life of older adults. While there is flexibility in how a plan is created and what it will do, every action plan includes a statement about what can be achieved, target dates for goal completion, identification of participating organizations and indicators to measure progress. The action plan is an "active" rather than static document. Revisions and amendments are a sign of program improvement and progress.

Description: Carrollwood Cultural Center hoped to allow more people to enjoy its theatrical, dance and art programming. To make its offerings more accessible, the Center installed an assistive-listening system and hired audio describers. Additionally, they invited the Blind Visionaries multimedia group to perform. To further welcome blind and low-vision arts lovers, they also staged a tactile and audible art exhibit onsite.

Description: This project constructed a pathway which connects and important commercial corridor, an apartment complex for older adults and a walking loop in Takomah Trail Park.
