Sandford developed its action plan with a team of committed volunteers and experts in a number of relevant fields with the goal of assisting residents of all ages in living well and engaging in their communities. The plan is grounded in the founding principle of the Sandford community - to empower residents to take charge in planning initiatives that affect their lives. Sandford's age-friendly initiative is meant to be responsive to the needs identified by the consumers and caregivers that are currently unmet by the town's healthcare and policy infrastructure. The initiative is committed to continued engagement with the community, particularly with populations who are targeted as being most in need.
