Royal Oak developed its action plan ensure that all members of the community can live by the city motto of "Life Now Playing." Led by a robust aging in place task force, a team of volunteers, relevant city agencies, non-profit organizations, community members and local advocates, Royal Oak is prepared to help members help members of the community of all ages enjoy this city at all stages of life. The initiative focuses on age-friendly improvements to downtown and other public places, increasing information and opportunities for intergenerational social connections and improving transportation options and information for all residents.

Provide older adult-friendly activities and fitness equipment in parks and public places.Transportation
Encourage road safety by improving visibility of street signs and road markings, increasing major road pedestrian crossings high visibility crosswalk markings, darkening lane markings and educating the community on new traffic features upon install.Communication and Information
Ensure that community engagement reaches all types of older adults, from the active and digitally literate to the isolated and homebound, by providing people with digital assistant devices, expanding computer training and establishing a central source for all information.
