Action Plan Download
Jefferson County developed its action plan with the understanding that designing an age-friendly community relies on establishing a clear, shared vision, measurable steps and a strong network of collaborators. The initiative focuses on fostering social inclusion through inclusive planning, along with intergenerational programs and spaces; enhancing the exchange of communication and information through consistent messaging to keep all community members engaged; and designing an inclusive built environment around equitable access and a recognition that physical infrastructure and the social environment must work together.
Action Plan Highlights

HousingFocus on age-friendly housing and neighborhood planning by creating a spearkers bureau and developing resources for planners and county leadership that help incentivize creating more affordable, age-friendly housing.
Respect and InclusionEngage trusted community leaders in specific underrepresented and marginalized communities so their members feel comfortable engaging in planning and implementation, translate outreach materials and meetings into more languages and tailor outreach to rural and mountain communities.
