Indian River County developed its action plan with the overall goal of being a county in which people grow and age with dignity, health, and resources to help them thrive. The age-friendly initiative is centered around expanding livability for all people in the county and creating a community that is safe and secure with supportive community features and services which enhance the quality of life of residents. The action plan highlights four primary areas: community health, affordable, housing, establishing economic opportunity and employment, and access to communication and information.
Action Plan Highlights

Focus on mental health and social isolation among older adults by expanding mental health continuum of care, increasing the number of individuals certified in mental health first aid, and creating workgroups to plan a community response to social isolation.Housing
