Action Plan Download
Emeryville developed its action plan as a way of educating and encouraging local leaders and residents to implement changes that make communities more livable for people of all ages, especially older adults. Led by the city's commission on aging and parks and recreation department, the plan consciously makes adults part of the solution, utilizing the experience and knowledge of older adults. Emeryville also works to value cultural diversity and include people with different languages, cultures, races, religions, backgrounds, physical and cognitive abilities, sexual orientations, genders, and ages in the age-friendly work, and promotes and celebrates positive perceptions of aging, reducing stigma and discrimination.
