Action Plan Download
Eagle County developed its action plan as a call to action for residents, community leaders, healthcare professionals, policymakers and county departments, focusing primarily on housing, transportation, and social participation, respect and social inclusion. The plan looks to intentionally include residents of the towns, valleys, neighborhoods and unincorporated parts of the county to engage and empower residents throughout the region. Eagle County also invites community members to embrace the experience, wisdom and ongoing contributions, both economically and socially, of the diverse people that live in Eagle County, fostering a community of inclusion of all ages, means and abilities.
Action Plan Highlights
Housing
Educate residents on age-friendly housing through stakeholder resources and virtual speaker series on topics such as weatherization, universal design and accessibility, retrofitting existing homes, and purging and/or downsizing.Transportation
Increase transportation options by adding new drivers to existing volunteer driver programs, building partnerships to shape future paratransit policies and services for older adults around the county, and identifying and solving for transportation gaps in the greater region.Social Participation
Facilitate social experiences for older adults by providing safe spaces for small groups to congregate at Eagle County Housing Association sites.
