Action Plan Download
Denver developed its action plan as a two-phased approach. The phase one work has identified current challenges, assets and areas of overlap with existing city initiatives and programs, primarily focused on the built environments and social services. Examples include providing affordable and safe housing, increasing mobility and access through transportation, improving access to work opportunities, creating incentives to employ more health care workers, creating more incentives to combat isolation, and improving safety. Phase two work maps potential partnerships beyond city agencies and current partners, identifying new opportunities for collaboration and coordination, exploring additional areas of need, setting standards and identifying metrics.
Action Plan Highlights
Housing
Support home sharing, co-housing, and other innovative housing models by revisiting citywide zoning to include ADU requirements, and new household and primary use definitions.Transportation
Support the implementation of Vision Zero policies and promote the use of public transit.Communication and Information
Aid caregivers by giving information related to healthcare, older adult activities, and resources through a multiple-platform, multilingual outreach program that will enhance 2-1-1, 3-1-1, and 9-1-1.
