Cutler Bay developed its action plan with the goal of identifying opportunities to embed age-friendly principles into all aspects of the town's planning and service delivery, eventually integrating the plan into their community master plan. Cutler Bay's age-friendly work includes enhancing public spaces, prioritizing aging in place, improving transit, combating social isolation with community events, increasing employment and volunteer opportunities, accessing information, and making health care accessible and affordable.

The town used an AARP grant to purchase outdoor fitness equipment for active adults. They completed various projects, including adding accessible amenities like a canoe/kayak ramp, a floating dock, pavilions, and a walking path. They improved the Aquatics Center with shade, seating, chairlifts, and free aquatic classes for active adults. The town ensured ADA accessibility in all facilities and parks, provided an accessible mini-bus for field trips, and restored Franjo Park. They expanded transportation options by negotiating Sunday service and receiving grants for a second bus and on-demand services. The town organized outreach events, educational activities, and workshops on mobility and safety. They focused on housing incentives and promoted arts, recreation, and education for older adults. Programs, volunteerism, and employment opportunities for seniors were increased, and collaborations with healthcare organizations enhanced healthy lifestyles.
