Action Plan Download
The Charlottesville Area Alliance developed its action plan after great community education, advocacy, engagement, planning and evaluation. The action plan prioritizes transportation, housing, social participation and access to health services, and is based on the belief that people of all ages benefit from the adoption of policies and programs that make neighborhoods walkable, feature transportation options, enable access to key services, provide opportunities to participate in community activities, and support housing that's affordable and adaptable.
Action Plan Highlights
Housing
Bring housing costs down, identify potential redevelopment opportunities, and increase accessible housing by modifying land use regulations to increase density, and incentivizing accessory dwelling units and manufactured housing.Transportation
Remove barriers to transit and identify potential opportunities for on-demand transportation services for rural residents by improving the location, access, and amenities of bus stops.Social Participation
Increase social engagement opportunities to ensure people of all ages can fully participate in their community by generating activities and opportunities for older adults and providing dementia awareness trainings to businesses and individuals.
