Action Plan Download

An action plan is based on the results of community surveys identifying needs within the 8 Domains of Livability that influence the health and quality of life of older adults. While there is flexibility in how a plan is created and what it will do, every action plan includes a statement about what can be achieved, target dates for goal completion, identification of participating organizations and indicators to measure progress. The action plan is an "active" rather than static document. Revisions and amendments are a sign of program improvement and progress.

Action Plan Highlights

  1. Outdoor Spaces

    Improve and expand the local recreational trail and provide additional public seating options downtown.

  2. Transportation

    Improve bicycle rack availability downtown and install sidewalk ramps at intersections.

  3. Housing

    Increase housing options for older adults - both to age in place, as well as to open up existing housing stock.

Project Category: Expansion and enhancement of transportation options

Description: To expand transportation options to more residents, this project created a call center. This allows older adults who don't own smartphones to access rides hailing services by phone -- something previously only possible through an app. To further help residents get around, Aging Resources provides older adults with up to eight free rides each month.
