Action Plan Download
Charles City developed its action plan to provide an environment that enhances livability, accessibility and social interaction for people of all ages. The goal of the plan is to make Charles City a progressive, vibrant, age-friendly community that is welcoming to all, with infrastructure, services, activities, recreational opportunities and social interaction options available and accessible to everyone. The initiative focuses on creating pedestrian and bicycle-friendly pathways, along with public and private transportation options and handicap-accessible sidewalks, that make getting around town possible for all ages, abilities and incomes. Additionally, Charles City is working to build housing options and technology that enable residents to live and safely age in place where they choose, or access quality assisted living or skilled nursing care locally.
