Action Plan Download
Boulder County developed its action plan with a regional outlook. The plan is divided into four focus areas. The first focus is on fulfilling basic needs surrounding built environment priorities like housing, transit, health, housing, and affordability. The second focus is on increasing personal connection and community involvement by encouraging social interaction, including older adults, and providing access to volunteer work and education. The third focus is on improving health and wellness by targeting access to affordable healthcare and end of life services. The fourth focus is to increase the quality of life for older adults and aging in place.
Action Plan Highlights
Housing
Enable older adults to safely remain in their homes by expanding home modification and maintenance services and increasing the prevalence of ADUs and other multi-generational housing options.Health and Community Services

Develop and implement a healthcare advocate program for single, unconnected, or language-isolated older adults in need of assistance navigating healthcare information.Outdoor Spaces
Allow parks, open spaces, streets, sidewalks, outdoor venues, public restrooms, parking, rest areas, and buildings to be used and enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities by employing age-friendly design standards.
