Older adults in rural Koochiching County lacked devices and digital skills, leaving them isolated from health care and social connections. The project offered free laptops and classes on basics and online safety, with additional laptops purchased for future sessions. I video chat weekly and use my provider's online portal," explaining how her new laptop was vital after losing her son.

Description: Refugee and Immigrant Connections Spokane addressed gaps in digital access that left many older adults struggling to communicate, find information and take part in daily activities that increasingly require online skills. These programs continue to grow and will expand further once the center moves to a larger facility, creating ongoing opportunities for community members to build skills and maintain independence.
