Many riders made multiple trips because they could not safely manage heavier bags. The project placed collapsible carts on vehicles so groceries could be stored securely without strain. Staff training ensured carts were used safely and riders learned they could bring home more food in one trip. Older adults reported that errands felt less tiring and that they could shop more confidently. ClasTran will keep the carts available, monitor their use and share reminders so riders know the option remains part of regular service.

Trained volunteer pilots, including many older adults, began offering free rides through neighborhoods, parks and riverfront trails from a central hub. One wheelchair user said it was the fastest and farthest they had traveled in 30 years, calling the experience a gift. By embedding adaptive cycling into local recreation and disability partnerships, the project created an ongoing way for residents to reconnect with nature and community.
