Action Plan Download
Montclair developed its action plan focusing on the four areas of housing, outdoor spaces and buildings, transportation, and community supports and health services. The resulting action plan commits to improving public infrastructure by enhancing streets and creating safer pedestrian crossings, increasing access to transportation, easing zoning restrictions to build ADUs, and increasing the availability of alternative accessible and affordable housing options. The plan also commits to increasing access to health care and caregiving support.

Progress Report Download
Montclair's age-friendly progress report focuses on its unique community assets, such as a supportive governing body, a funding partner and an energetic and informed Senior Citizens Advisory Committee. The community focused its efforts on transportation through the Montclair Senior Bus Roundtable, comprised of older residents. The group guides the operation of the Township's Senior Bus, which is operated by the local Transportation Management Association (TMA) and EZ Ride. The Roundtable's feedback is written into the contract to institutionalize their role. The community also launched an initiative called Self Portraits: Faces of Aging, featuring self-portraits of older Montclair-area residents and their reflections on what aging means to them. The project's goal was to offset stereotypes around aging and highlight the talents and perspectives of older residents. Montclair also created its "Montclair Housing Action Group" with a mission to focus public awareness on the town's growing
