La Mesa developed its action plan focusing on the six key areas of outdoor spaces, social participation, community information, housing, transportation, and health. La Mesa aims to offer more safe and maintained public gathering spaces across the city by funding additional green space around city-owned facilities. The plan also looks to increase personal connections to reduce social isolation, increase the supply of affordable housing and offer alternative housing models, and provide greater opportunity for older adults to become involved in active transportation planning.
Action Plan Highlights
Health and Community ServicesHighlight health and wellness activities through the design and implementation of a citywide communication plan.
HousingProvide education on affordable housing strategies and offer alternative housing options near transit by working with homeowners and private property owners.
