Action Plan Download
Keene developed its action plan as a natural outgrowth of Keene's strategic plan, which seeks to thoughtfully and intentionally enhance economic and population growth while retaining a quaint, small-town fell. Keene has long valued and nurtured the spirit of volunteerism, which is at the core of the community age-friendly initiative. Volunteer-led age-friendly initiatives work to enhance livability by ensuring access to resources to serve older adults and families, expanding year-round housing for individuals working and retiring in Keene, supporting continued access to primary health care, expanding recreational opportunities for residents, and supporting recreational tourism. Keene's vision is to ensure that the community remains an age-friendly place to live by continuing to nurture strong social connections, foster inclusion and respect, ensure safe and accessible environments, and support programs and services of importance for older adults.
