Fairfax developed its action plan to specifically address concerns of the town's population, particularly safer outdoor spaces, use of travel navigators for public transit use, advocacy for a low-income senior affordable housing development, free classes and events for older adults (yoga, singing, painting, speakers forum, etc.), age-friendlier businesses and improved communication and website.

Fairfax's age-friendly progress report highlights many housing, transportation and outdoor spaces accomplishments. The community has added age-friendly benches, LED lighting, drinking fountains, bus stops, parks and sidewalk improvements. Fairfax also supported improved street infrastructure, affordable home development, and new transportation initiatives geared toward older adult residents. Fairfax also prioritized age-friendly events, recruiting older adults to volunteer, supporting age-friendly employment opportunities, educating residents via monthly forums and improved website access, and working with organizations to bolster emergency preparedness.
