Action Plan Download
Auburn developed its action plan based primarily on data collected during a community survey. The plan focuses on transportation access for older adults without a personal vehicle and facilitating home maintenance for older adults to better allow them to age in place. Initiatives include things like mowing grass, shoveling snow, removing or installing air conditioners and handyman jobs. Auburn has also prioritized an age-friendly business strategy, including an age-friendly business designation, and involving local businesses in age-friendly planning processes to improve social connectivity and bolster the local economy.
Action Plan Highlights

Improve public spaces by increasing access to rest places and walking areas, installing friendship benches to provide additional seating and help reduce social isolation, and advocating for increased crosswalk safety and local business education programs to city council.Transportation
