Action Plan Download
Arlington County developed its action plan in collaboration with AARP Virginia. Arlington commits to improving housing affordability, working with the Virginia regional transit agency to enhance public transportation, along with improving its commitment to Vision Zero policies to enhance pedestrian safety. In addition, Arlington County will prioritize diversity, committing to work with African American, LGBTQ, immigrant, and other minority communities, in pursuit of inclusive equitable age-friendly goals.

Transportation
Eliminate traffic fatalities and serious injuries to pedestrians, bikers, and drivers by enhancing Vision Zero policies. Increase public transit use by making transit more affordable. -
Housing
Create more services that allow older adults to age in place and advocate for more housing density, including promoting ADUs. -
Respect and Inclusion
Partner with local universities to encourage intergenerational learning opportunities.
