Project Category: Public spaces improvements to increase high-speed internet availability
Description: The Boston Public Library offers free, 24-hour Wi-Fi access at outdoor locations around the city. However, many of these workstations were not convenient or equipped for older adults. To fix this, the library expanded the program into new neighborhoods, targeting areas with older populations, low internet adoption rates and low median household income. At each new Wi-Fi workstation, the library installed furniture, solar-powered string lights, age-friendly seating, plants and other decorative items.

Project Category: Bikeability
Description: The Allen Neighborhood Center installed a bike repair and air station in Hunter Park, Lansing's second busiest park. Located in a low-income neighborhood, Hunter Park's repair station provides tools to residents who may not otherwise have access to them. The station sits next to a bus stop, providing easy access to riders who ride their bikes to and from their bus rides. The Allen Neighborhood Center has hosted bike repair trainings and project organizers report many cyclists regularly make repairs using the tools.

Project Category: Roadway/sidewalks/crosswalk improvement
Description: To protect pedestrians and cyclists from passing traffic, the City of Lansing installed delineators at a busy roundabout. Additionally, the City painted a sidewalk at along the roundabout's perimeter to make it more visible to drivers. To give cyclists a place to park, they also installed bike racks nearby.
