The Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health in Las Vegas provides diagnosis and ongoing treatment for patients with cognitive disorders. It also offers support services and integrates research and education into its work. The center established an online community to provide resources for patients and families, caregivers, health care providers and others who are affected by dementia. Today, people in southern Nevada can find information and connect to services through Dementiafriendlynevada.org.

Project Category: Supporting family caregivers
Description: Many older adults lacked clear, trusted sources for aging-related services. Age-Friendly Forsyth launched a volunteer-driven program that trained 46 Aging Services Ambassadors-most age 50-plus-to share resources and guidance in their communities. Volunteers learned empathetic communication and received resource notebooks and emergency "File of Life" packets for distribution. The initiative created a sustainable model for advocacy and improved awareness of local support systems. One advocate said they valued learning about the programs and services available to him, and felt empowered to help neighbors.

Description: Caregivers in Sheridan often face overwhelming responsibilities without clear guidance. Holy Name addressed this by hosting workshops on topics like legal planning, home health care and end-of-life decisions paired with respite care and shared meals. Volunteers organized sessions featuring expert advice and caregiver stories and provided resource books. "These workshops have been a blessing to me and so many in our community," one participant said. Plans include expanding the model statewide through guidebooks and training.

Description: Older adults in Clark County faced barriers to reentering the workforce because many lacked basic digital skills needed for online applications and interviews. The Culinary Academy of Las Vegas launched training that covered email setup, job searches and video interviews, providing devices and hands-on support. More than 350 participants completed the program and 235 secured jobs. One graduate now works at the Academy's front desk, showing how digital literacy opened doors for employment and confidence in navigating today's tech-driven workplace.
