Description: This project will revitalize a city park by adding an ADA-compliant shaded pavilion with tables and benches, and improved lighting for visibility. These enhancements will make the park more accessible to older adults.

Description: This project will enhance Florence Hathaway Park with shuffleboard courts, an ADA pavilion, and an all-season bathroom. The park will serve residents age 50-plus and promote multi-generational outdoor recreation.
Augusta, GA

Project Category: Park enhancements
Description: Organizers with the Augusta Recreation and Parks Department noticed people were driving their vehicles into Henry H. Brigham Park, making park users feel unsafe. This project set out to prevent this, keeping a walking track, basketball court and playground area free from cars and trucks. The Department installed bollards, as well as benches -- which served the dual purpose of giving park patrons a place to rest. Additionally, organizers planted shade trees to make the park more appealing in the summer heat. To draw visitors, the Department also worked to increase recreational programming in the park, including Tai Chi classes.

Description: Organizers with Destination Caldwell think of Indian Creek Plaza like the front porch on a farmhouse -- a place for sitting and chatting with neighbors. The nonprofit hoped to activate the space with interactive outdoor games. They engaged residents to decoupage vintage photographs onto cornhole boards and piece together glass-mosaic tabletop gameboards for chess, checkers and backgammon. This project is part of larger efforts to bring public art to the plaza. Today, the game tables are available throughout the year.

Description: This project aims to upgrade technology at the Idaho Hispanic Community Center by adding a new sound system, microphone, projector, and screen. These improvements will enhance the facility for community events.
