The Plains Pickleball Association upgraded local courts with an equipment shed, benches, a windbreak and a paved walkway that created safer entry points and shaded places to rest. These additions also protected gear and improved access for players learning during beginner nights, where many older adults participate. The improvements encouraged more residents to stay active and socialize in a safe environment. Community members said the updates "provided the finishing touches," noting how the sheltered seating and stable walking surface made play more welcoming.

Description: Many residents weren't aware of underused park in Leadville's downtown. To increase the park's visibility, the City revamped the space. They replaced eight benches and installed twinkle lights and a permanent fire pit made from a converted ore cart. Community members chipped in by creating mosaics on planters and painting a mural. The City held a well-attended kick-off party for the park, which featured fire pits and giveaways.

Description: As part of renovations to make the West Dallas Multipurpose Center accessible for people of all ages and abilities, the City of Dallas set out to improve a walking path on the center's grounds. A key goal: give older adults opportunities to exercise and spend time with their grandchildren. To achieve this, the city installed five ADA-compliant benches along the path, which runs alongside a playground. Project organizers say the benches increase walkability at the center, which offers Dallas residents social services, child care and other resources. The benches give visitors a place to rest as they stroll the walking path or supervise children as they play.
