Action Plan
The City of Longwood developed its action plan in collaboration with the Department of Health, Seminole State College, and AARP Florida. The plan focuses on four core domains of livability Community, Health Services and Participation, Housing and Outdoor Spaces, Transportation and Mobility, and Communication and Information. Longwoods age-friendly effort aims to promote greater investments in public health and community programs to improve the wellbeing of local residents, require that new housing developments provide green space for residents and more affordable housing stock, and enhance transit accessibility by improving intersections and addressing sidewalk gaps for pedestrians.

Provide free medical assistance and advanced life support to all city residents, along with free transportation to local hospitals. Provide medical assistance at emergency shelters during natural disasters -
Transportation
Promote Transit Oriented Development by encouraging higher density building near transit routes, and more mixed-use development. -

Create new development opportunities to increase the supply of affordable housing units.
