Lansing developed its action plan with the goal of improving overall quality of life for older adults and all residents. The plan increases park accessibility and implements an age-friendly business program. In addition, the action plan calls on the city to improve transportation infrastructure to expand access to rural communities, build new, affordable housing stock, and develop social programs for older residents.
Action Plan Highlights
housingIncrease the amount of affordable, accessible housing by modifying zoning to allow ADU's, cohousing, additional density, and multi-family housing.
Health and Community ServicesHelp older adults understand resource options through a patient navigator program, where a trained professional is assigned to a family and helps them learn about healthcare options.
