Lead Agency: Age Friendly Jackson Hole
Action Plan Download
Jackson Hole developed its action plan as part of a grassroots effort to make the community more age-friendly, and to connect older and isolated adults in remote parts of Teton County to available resources. The plan focuses social determinants of health, which it identifies as housing shortages, access to healthcare, and food insecurity. In the built environment, the plan also focuses on developing more low income apartments for older residents and those with disabilities. Additionally, the plan touches on transportation, requiring that the town add additional transportation options outside the town limits, more transfers, and new, wheelchair-accessible curbs within the town.
Action Plan Highlights
HousingCreate multiple housing options for older adults, people with disabilities, and caregivers who wish to live with older residents.
TransportationReform the current transportation system by building more pedestrian-friendly streets, promoting cheaper taxi services, adding additional transit transfers, and making curbs and sidewalks more accessible to wheelchairs.
