Jackman developed its action plan as part of a multi-year effort to increase its livability for older residents who wish to age in place. The plan's overall goals and objectives are framed around helping older adults stay in their homes and creating a life-long community where residents "grow up and grow old together." The plan also focuses on developing community gardens, providing mobility to older adults who no longer drive, creating more opportunities for social participation, and promoting community support services to help maintain a healthy community.
Action Plan Highlights
HousingCreate safer homes for older residents while increasing the number of senior-only apartments.
Outdoor SpacesBeautify the natural environment by developing community gardens, benches, community trails, and a renovated town park.
Health and Community ServicesCreate and implement a plan to deliver home healthcare to area residents, promoting programs that support general health and well-being, assist in supporting 24/7 emergency medical care, and enhance older adults' access to technology-based healthcare tools.
