Action Plan Download
Albuquerque developed its action plan through a team led by the Department of Senior Affairs. Developed at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the action plan is centered around working with the city's Emergency Operations Center to close the gap in services around the community as senior centers and other facilities were closed due to the public health emergency. The plan focuses on providing meals and care services for older adults, as well as information, support for businesses, and support for families, including childcare for essential workers. As Albuquerque has navigated the pandemic, all city departments completed age-friendly commitment statements detailing their age-friendly work throughout city operations and governance, providing an inventory of age-friendly programs and initiatives, and referencing age-friendly work whenever possible.
